Sitting Up

Sadie has been practicing her sitting. She still flops over sometimes, usually rather suddenly and face-first, but usually I am impressed with her ability to stabilize using her core strength.

She can also sometimes get up onto all fours from her tummy and kind of scooch and slide around, but I guess the next step is rocking forward from sitting into a crawl. Then the party is really over for mommy!

I know I shot this vertical, so it will show up a little strange, but I had to share. This is a good medley of all Sadie's current tricks.

Nom nom nom

V shot this and sent it to me yesterday afternoon and it brightened my whole day.  
Apparently Sadie's babysitter gave her some little rice crackers to gnaw on while she's teething and our girl really likes them.  Mostly, I'm excited to see her display of hand mouth coordination and all her tiny fingers still intact.

Toofs!

We have been seeing signs of them for a couple months now, but they have finally surfaced: two little bottom teeth! The better for making ridiculous jack-o-lantern faces.

Our First Lady got gussied up for Presidents Day. This girl is growing some hair in a hurry.

Seven Months

I can't believe Sadie is closer to a year than to the day she was born! As you can see, she is very mobile (but not as mobile as she'd like to be) and interested in touching everything around her. 

Apparently, she didn't like my artwork this month, so she used her doll as an eraser.

Sadie always gets compliments wherever she goes, but the past week especially I have had so many people go out of their way to tell me what a beautiful baby I have. She must be blossoming. I can't argue!

Tiny Dancer

This is Sadie in one of her doorway jumper thingies. It's more fun now they she is stronger. I just think it is so cute when she tap dances around in it, or sometimes just twirls around in circles.

It was an unusually lovely and photogenic morning in our house.

Our doll is ready to play Nathan Detroit.

Trying New Things

Oatmeal was a big hit. Next I tried avocado, which was rejected. How is this child related to me If she doesn't like avocado??
However, when I mixed avocado with oatmeal: success!
Same with banana. Looks like the trick is to introduce new foods mixed with things she already likes. We're supposed to wait 3 days between new foods, but I'm impatient to try more!
