Block Party Madness

We attended a couple block parties on friends' blocks in Park Slope this weekend and we made an extraordinary discovery: our kids are Block-Party Animals!

For maybe the first time, Frankie got to wander around a Brooklyn block without constant parental supervision. So emancipated was she, she founded her way to the face paint booth where she painted her own face.

After trying on sunglasses from a local street vendor, Sadie did a little face-painting too!

Sawyer didn't get his face painted, and he didn't stop running around and jumping in the bouncy house for us to get even a single photo of him. But he slowed down during a home fashion show last night long enough to capture these.

More Return to Brooklyn Pics

We've seen a little rain, but Frankie and Sawyer don't mind. 

Sawyer asked to go to the Prospect Park Zoo, so I took him and Frankie and we all had a great time.

There certainly is a lot more interesting activity going on in the street here than back in Waterford. I definitely prefer this to dead porcupines.

So, we're back.

Back in Brooklyn

We've been back in Brooklyn for two weeks now and everyone seems to be adapting pretty well. Here are some photos taken since our return.

Yesterday began with an 8am subway ride to Sunset Park for Sadie's softball game.

Sadie got only one base hit in her three at bats and she was feeling a little dejected until she caught an infield fly ball to end (and win) the game. Her team mates all screamed and hugged her and it was very exciting.

After her softball game, we went to the annual Carroll Park flea market where Sadie tried on some new (to her) fashions. This young newcomer can make anything work. 

A couple nights ago, after the kids were all in pajamas, we all went around the corner for frozen yogurt at culture. We should do this more often. These kids really know how to enjoy it.  

I'm not sure when it happened, but Sawyer has become such a cool, handsome dude.
