Charlotte?

After a ten hour flight, we're finally back in the USA, but sadly sitting in the Charlotte airport waiting for a delayed connection home. We hope to be home by 10pm.
We had a great vacation though.

Rome! Days 1 & 2

We saw a lot these first couple days, notwithstanding pretty debilitating jetlag. We see to be getting over it now though.
Sadie either frowns or dances crazily when told to smile.
We're having a great time.

When in Rome! (preview)

It is virtually impossible to get photos off our good camera and onto the web without a computer, so the best we can do for now is a few screenshots. Much more to come when we return (if we return).

On the road to Rome: The Franklin Institute, Philadelphia

The Franklin Institute was amazing. We only had an hour and a half there so we definitely need to go back.

There were so many great, interactive science exhibits and they were really interesting and fun.
Sadie got to walk (run) through a replica of a human heart big enough for a woman 220 feet tall. She did that three times.
She got to see the relative sizes of different animals' hearts and brains, including peoples'.
She stood in front of a green screen and did at weather report about a blizzard.
She tried virtual reality goggles and participated in visual reality brain surgery.
She got to climb through a giant structure-network-jungle-gym thing that was supposed to represent neurons and synapses in the brain and she was just a little electrical impulse zooming around in it. That was amazing!
Sawyer crawled through a tunnel with loud sounds like the center of the Earth and lights flashing like hot magma around him. He was really brave. Mostly, he just enjoyed running around and touching everything.
They saw and did so many things. It was a blast! So excited we discovered Philadelphia - I feel like Magellan!
