Sadie Miscellany - California Edition

We are back in Brooklyn as of last night at around 11pm.  I am looking through photos from my phone and it appears that Sadie did quite a lot of growing and adventuring out there.  Here are some pictures.  More to come!

She went to the flea market.

She hid something behind her back.

And then she revealed her treasure.

She went for a walk on West Cliff with her mommy.

And she pushed her own stroller, however briefly.

And she sat on the curb.

She looked rugged and ready in her new vest.

She hung out with her cousin Ellis.

She ate an awful lot of healthy food... (raspberries, avocados, eggs, toast...)
...and ate... (peaches, grapes, cheese...)
...and ate! (pluots, cherries, chicken) Our girl is growing so fast!!!

Sadie Loves Ice Cream

There are several new artisanal ice cream joints in Santa Cruz, all with funky flavors. Here is Sadie sampling the goat cheese blueberry flavor. Pretty charming! (What you don't hear is the shrieking that comes after the ice cream is taken away)

Sadie Rides a Bike

Yard sales have been fruitful this weekend. Included in the haul were a baby bike seat and baby helmet, as well as a daddy-sized helmet.

Here are the results. I think she likes it!

Sadie Meets Truman!

The much-anticipated meeting of these two tiny relatives has finally taken place! Cousin Lelah and Aunt Liza were driving to Oakland to see Cousin Pippa this week, and offered to stop by Santa Cruz to visit.

Much (blurry) cuteness ensued. Sadie's walking skills have improve drastically since our arrival here, but Truman is an old pro and showed Sadie a thing or two. They also exchanged doggie and monkey (or, as Sadie calls it, "doggie") and did their best Tom Hanks/Robert Loggia impression. I'm so glad
they got to visit and wish we could see them more often.

Sadie & Truman: second cousins finally unremoved

Happily happily, Aunt Liza and Cousin Lelah were visiting in the Bay Area this past week and on their way back to Southern California they stopped in for breakfast and Sadie finally met her cousin contemporary, Truman.  The cousins played well together and charmed the lot of us.  What fun cousins are!!

Sadie likes California

We took Sadie to lunch at Aldo's on the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor yesterday.  There she encountered crayons and a colorable placemat for the first time.  She did not take to coloring so much as chewing on the crayons.
Then later she helped her mommy prepare dinner and when nobody was looking she helped herself to a nectarine.  Anyway, she seems to like California weather and California produce.
