Ventura Visit

Saturday morning we took a scenic drive up to Ventura to visit Aunt Liza and Grandma Lynn. Cousin Tom also stopped by for a few minutes to say hi, which was a treat. The kids were excited and restless from the drive, so pictures were few, but I did grab this moment where Grandma Lynn met her newest great-grandchild.

We had a yummy lunch and drove to the beach. It was overcast but the big kids were happy to play in the sand.

Frankie has some new fans on the west coast! Thank you for having us, Aunt Liza!

Last Day in L.A.

Today was our last day in L.A.  we depart tomorrow morning for Palm Springs and fly home tomorrow night from P.S. So today we stayed in the neighborhood. We started with a walk up and down Abbott-Kinney Blvd (super hip street in the heart of Venice), then we went down to Venice Beach and played in a playground before heading down to the water. Finally, we came back to our apartment and I took the kids in the pool. Another great day in L.A. - here's the proof.

Actually, we started with the adoration of Frankie. Her sibs looooove her to bits.

I really really like our minivan! Everybody I love fits!

Moving Day: Atwater Village to Venice Beach

Yesterday was moving day. In the morning we packed up and departed our charming little house in Atwater Village.

We needed milk for breakfast so Sadie and I made a quick trip to Vons (oh, how I love these big, clean, well stocked California grocery stores).

I know nobody really cares, but I cobbled together a great plate of huevos rancheros using only eggs and leftovers from our fridge. Yum Yum Yum!

Sadie made super hero eyebrows for her brother and herself. Who knew how powerful they could be? 

We were out of the house by 11:15 but couldn't check into our new place in Marina Del Rey/Venice until 3, so we headed up to The Getty Center to kill some time, have a little picnic and see some art.

Yes, Sawyer is grabbing exactly what you think. 

Finally, we arrived in Venice and strolled down to the beach 2 blocks away.  It was chilly but Sawyer was so happy to be at the beach that he ran right into the ocean. Sadie showed slightly more restraint. They're good kids.

This is a really nice vacation!

Big Day Outdoorsing in L.A.

This morning we zipped over to Griffith Park to take the kids on the mini train and pony rides.  They sid both twice and they loved it.

This little delight was there too! 

Then we drove over to Universal City to get burgers at In-n-Out Burger. My ladies and I sat outside enjoying our lunch for a nice long time while Sawyer napped in his stroller. So relaxing

Finally, we drove up Bronson Canyon to see some more nature and play with a couple toy gliders V brought along.

What a nice day. I'm beginning to think L.A. might be trying to seduce u.s with it's lovely weather and limitless, splendid outdoorsing opportunities. We're not playing hard to get.
