Adventure Day!
On Friday night, Sadie asked me if we could have an adventure this weekend. I asked her where she wanted to go and she said she wanted to ride a train to Dumbo. Good plan!
The weather was gloomy and wet on Saturday morning so we decided to run a quick errand in Soho and have lunch there before going to Dumbo.
The errand was a return at REI, where Sadie discovered hammocks!
Then we went for lunch at a restaurant where Sadie had her very own pizza!
Sadie wanted to follow that with a cupcake from a little bakery, but I talked her into trying rice pudding at Rice to Riches - goofy name, great rice pudding in dozens of flavors! She was very happy with her choice.
Finally, before heading to Dumbo, Sadie came with me to shop for new eyeglass frames. There, she found a very stylish chair to recline in.
And shortly after that, my phone battery died, so no one will ever know what happened next or if we made it to Dumbo and toffee the carousel and had a good time and eventually got home tired but happy (we did!).

Sawyer & Jasper
Sawyer took the reins yesterday for the first time. Jasper went along without complaint. Soon, we hope, we'll get to sleep in while the two of them go out walking.

Maine Visit
I think Sawyer likes the country.
Next we went up to Pie Tree farm for some apple picking.
Impromptu Adventure in Manhattan
Sadie and I went into Manhattan today for a little adventure.
First, Sadie sailed a little boat in a fountain in Madison Square Park.
Then we went to the Math Museum - pretty cool! Sadie enjoyed playing on the giant sized digital painting screen.
Afterwards, we went for Gelato at Eatily (where we bumped into Chelsea Clinton and husband and new baby being normal decent human beings - a good omen).
Finally, we took a walk through Soho where Sadie met a designer bear she liked.
It was a pretty great day and Sadie is a pretty great kid.
