Butternut, meet pumpkins!

We took a little field trip today up the Hudson with some friends to a pumpkin patch and general little Autumnal fair.  It was lovely and Sadie met more than her share of seasonal gourds and enjoyed herself a'plenty.  Witnesseth, res ipsa loquitur.

It got really cold today! Sadie had a play date with our new friends Anne and baby Skye this morning, and we were among the very few braving the chill at the playground. 

In case I haven't mentioned it, Sadie's newest tricks include: pointing to every airplane or helicopter in the sky and going "brrrmmm"; totally understanding when I say things like "Papa's home!" (goes to front door to listen for papa and says "Papa?") or "time to change your diaper!" (Leads me to changing table and flops right back saying "Di-dah"); putting on potholders and dish gloves (I'm training her to cook and clean early). She has also gotten good with amusing herself in her crib for a while when she wakes up. I've been leaving books in arms' reach and sometimes it buys an extra 20 mins.

We are off to ANOTHER play date with Maren and baby Gracelyn. Very busy dance card today!

Back to Normal Silliness

All the playing with Grandma India tired Sadie out. She reset with a 3-hour nap today and woke up full of beans.

Grandma India Visits!

Grandma India came to stay with us for a few days! I can't believe I let another visit go by without getting a decent photo of Sadie and her grandma together. We were very busy running around playing soccer. These days Sadie goes to the playground/ball field once or twice a day.
Grandma got to put Sadie to bed one night so we could go to the theater. She also introduced Sadie to Katy Perry on pandora. It is very hard to get a video of Sadie dancing, but it happens.
She also gave Sadie a stuffed moose, but I made the mistake of correcting Sadie's misapprehension that it was a puppy dog, so she seems a little standoffish toward him. Give her time.

Sadie Year 2, Q1

Our little goose is getting big! I took her to her 15-month checkup yesterday. She has grown 3 inches in 3 months and is right on track. Poor thing had to have 4 booster shots, plus blood drawn for testing. She wailed, but got over it more quickly than her mom did. Here she is finding little treasures on the AstroTurf field.

Yesterday

Sadie got to see her very first rolled up skyscraper yesterday. Pretty exciting! These were in the parking lot behind BIG Gowanus because they were built at a metalworks that shares the building. I assume they will be installed somewhere in Manhattan and we will bump into them soon enough.

Walking Update

Sadie has become a walking pro. We like to go to the big astroturf lawn behind the playground so she can roam free. Where is she going???
