Sadie on Stage

Sadie played Miss Honey in the Camp Eisner production of Matilda last night. We weren't there, of course, but they will send a recording at some point.

Here are some photos! So proud of our girl!

Such a Busy Saturday!

Victoria has been out of town all week and I've been hanging out with the littles. They went to camp during the week so yesterday, Saturday, was the first day I had to keep them occupied for the whole day. I think I did an okay job.

We started the day with breakfast at the 7th Ave Donut Shop & Diner. After that, we took the train to South Ferry where we jumped the Staten Island Ferry.

More on this (below) later.

Then we went to the SeaGlass Carousel, Frankie looks sad because it wasn't as dynamic as she had hoped - so we did it a second time, with similar results. Oh, well.

Then, the kids played at the big Playground next to the carousel while I picked up hotdogs at a nearby Nathan's cart.

On the way back to the train we stopped at a street vendor to try on hats.

This one was a keeper.

When we got back to Brooklyn, we took Sawyer to get a much-needed haircut.

Followed by ice cream.

And then home for spaghetti night and a movie (Treasure Planet) followed by a dramatic reading from 'Winnie-the-Pooh') and to sleep.

That was the day. We did a lot! So, yeah, I feel pretty good about it.

Goodbye, Baby Teeth!

Frankie is growing and it is both thrilling and sad to watch our last baby becoming a full fledged kid. But mostly thrilling.
She lost her first tooth last week and then another today. She's loving it!

This is last week:

This is today:

It is hard to imagine a more excited kid. She's amazing!

A Lovely Day at DIA Beacon

We took a trip up to Beacon, NY this past Friday to visit the DIA Beacon at Foundation. Sawyer and Frankie had never been there - or at least Frankie hadn't. Sawyer was simply too young when he last went and didn't remember. (Sadie is away at camp, so she didn't join us.)

Anyway, it was a pretty terrific day.

Cousin Time!

We went out to Connecticut yesterday to visit cousin Lelah and her family: husband Dylan, sons Truman and Holden, and mom Liza (my aunt, in town from Ventura, CA). We had a yummy lunch and went to the beautiful Norwalk beach. The kids got alomg great. What a fun way to spend the 4th!
