A Trip to the Zoo!
Victoria had a lot of editing to do yesterday, so I packed up the kids into the double stroller and headed off to the Prospect Park zoo to meet Sadie's friend Stella and her brother and parents.
I had never been to this zoo before and it turns out it is just right for kids. Not too big and not too small. And there are peacocks all over the place. And sea lions. And red panda cubs!
Sawyer was very quiet and observant while Sadie ran around and got to know the animals.
Best part is, it's so close to our house and easy to walk to and the walk takes us right through the park.
Afterwards, on the walk home, both kids fell asleep in the stroller, so I walked around for an extra hour until they woke up.
It was a great day and I felt like a very competent Papa, so that was a nice bonus.
We're definitely going back soon!

A Star is Born
A couple weeks ago, Sawyer and I were cast in a commercial for Food Lion, a grocery store that I think is particular to the Southeast. We flew down to North Carolina for two nights, had an easy shoot, and a very pleasant time overall.
Sawyer was very easygoing. He started to get tired at some point in the morning, so he napped in the holding area for a bit while they shot my closeups, then we roused him for a couple more hours of riding around in a shopping cart and that's it! We celebrated with a clothing-optional wrap party in my hotel room.
I know you all will ask about seeing the finished product, but they usually don't send you copies so you just have to watch for it, but probably none of us will see it since it is only in the southeast. I asked the mom of the little girl in the ad to let me know if she sees it or gets ahold of it.
Papa held down the fort spendidly while I was away. I missed those guys!

A very long walk
Yesterday, Sadie and I took a very long walk. We walked over two miles. Along the way we stopped to take some pictures. We also stopped to try a splendid Cereal Milk milkshake at Momofuku Milk Bar. It was yummy.
As you can see, Sadie was a trooper - and a scruffy little fashion plate.
At the end of our walk we hopped on the bus to get home. Sadie promptly fell asleep on my lap, plum tuckered from our big day. It was great.

Stuff that happened this weekend
It was a pretty busy weekend.
Sadie had her first banana split and discovered that it contained a lot of her favorite things. So that was good.
Sawyer wore a sparkly cowboy hat, courtesy of Sadie.
Sadie built a really really big tower.
So that was fun.
