Summer!

Holy smokes this summer is going fast. I'm just going to post everything in a big blur, which is pretty much how the experience has felt.

There were a bunch of events toward the end of school, including a Coney Island Cyclones game that a bunch of people from the school go to as a fundraiser (the principal throws out the first pitch). I had never been to this stadium and it was super fun.

Took the train home with Jack and Yumi (and their parents), which was a highlight. This was at about 9pm, by the way.

They have to be friends forever now so they can recreate this picture in 20 years.

So. Many. Birthday parties.

Grandmas! As usual I was delinquent with the pictures, but the kids got a whole week with Grandma Vicki. There were many stories read, ice cream cones eaten, and good snuggles had.

We also had a special surprise visit from Grandma India, whose flight was delayed long enough for a quick visit. Bonus grandma time!

Last day of school. Go ahead, go look at the first day of kindergarten picture. I'll wait. Who is this person???

We will miss you, Miss Mirna!

First day of camp on a BUS! I don't know why, but the bus is the part that gets me.

Sawyer and I got to visit with cousins Holden and Truman, and their mom Lelah (my cousin) and Grandma Liza (my aunt)! Super special.

We met up by this giant rock in central park and Sawyer immediately took off and started climbing with them.

Then we went and checked out the natural history museum, which was also great. So glad we got a chance to meet up!

This is the official photo from Sadie's group at camp. Sadie has met lots of new friends, and also gets to hang out with Gabrielle (red hair next to her) and Tamar (pigtails far right) from CBE as well as some other folks not in her specific group.

Sawyer's first day of camp! Thumbs up. He is going 3x/week at CBE, where he'll be for school in the fall.

This was visitors' day at camp. Hard to see, but Sadie did in fact run up to the stage to join in the hand waving and dance moves for the camp songs. She has been successfully indoctrinated!

It's a great summer so far and the kids are doing great and growing miles.

Sadie's Birthday

This year we managed to convince Sadie to keep it small. She chose two friends, Beatrice and Ori, to accompany her on an adventure.

She chose the Prospect Park zoo, which is a very manageable size and was quiet that day. I took the girls over there in a taxi, and we explored for a couple hours.

Next we walked nextdoor to the Prospect Park carousel. Papa was there ready with pizza, cake, and a brother, and the girls had a little picnic.

Again, cake shot, because I obviously got into parenting for the glory.

And voila, we have a fully grown adult six-year-old!!! Happy birthday, Sadie!! One of the best yet.

Sawyer's Birthday

Clearly we're behind on posts. Also I got pretty much no pictures from this day and many of these were kindly supplied by Olive's dad.

Happily, Sawyer's birthday weekend fell on the block party day again this year. Naturally we let him believe all the hoopla was for him.

Sadie was really good at hosting and led the kids in a couple rounds of Freeze Dance.

Later in the day there was a bouncy house and certain birthday boys may have taken off all their clothes and run through the neighbors' kiddie pools, but thankfully there is no photographic documentation of such debauchery.
