More Snowstorm Adventures

By Monday afternoon, the snow had started to fall. So after school, I dragged Sadie to the park.

She made footsteps like the boy in the book (Snowy Day by Keats)

When we got back, she helped me shovel the front walk (an effort that would prove pointless by nightfall).

The next day, Papa was home from work and we met up with Zoey and her family. What service!

The park was the place to be.

Sadie had her first downhill sledding experience.

Still having trouble with video, so here are some screen captures. Imagine the sounds "hehe, hehe, hehe!"

I think she likes it.

Snow, Sledding, Hot Chocolate and What Have You!

The past week has been pretty busy.
Sadie tried on papa's rain boots.  Great fit!

Tuesday morning brought a world of snowy wonderfulness.

We all trudged up to the park to meet Sadie's friend Zoe for some sledding.

Trudge, Trudge, Trudge.

And there was more trudging once we got to the sledding hill, but Sadie minded much less.

Pausing before her next sled run.  (There are more pix to come of Sadie actually sledding down the hill.)
After sledding we headed to Konditorei, a Swedish-ish coffee shop for hot chocolate and baked things with Zoe and her parents.

Sadie kept her hands warm hodling her hot chocolate on the walk home with mommy.

Yummy!

Sadie is full-fledged Brooklyn person strolling along with her hot drink.

Blizzard Postponed!

We didn't get nearly the snowfall predicted yesterday, so instead of a grey day spent indoors listening to howling winds and cracking branches, we got a snow day with sledding in the park. There are lots more photos to come, but this one makes my heart explode.

Mommy's Busy Birthday

After our early birthday party we jumped into a car and headed up to the new Brooklyn Flea Market. If you're picturing a typical flea market then it isn't what you imagine. This flea market is comprised of about 50 antiques and crafts vendors in a clean, nicely lit heated, big industrial space. Upstairs there is an open seating area with long tables and a number of little restaurants around the perimeter. Sadie had fancy pizza. Mommy and papa had Ramen Burgers - YUM! (Google it!)
Sadie fell asleep after lunch while we wandered through the market. She woke up on the walk home so we stopped at a playground.
We all had a great day!

Mommy's Big Birthday Party!

We had a big birthday party for mommy this morning. Sadie picked out some beautiful pink roses and a couple of cupcakes for the party. After mommy blew out the candles Sadie asked that we light the candles again and blow them out again. So we sang happy birthday to mommy TWICE this morning. So far I think mommy is having an excellent birthday.

Crazy Time with Papa

Sadie and I hung out for a while this afternoon while mommy was out with a friend. After reading some books we took some nutty photos.
