Saturday in Parque el Retiro - Last Full Day in Madrid

For our last full day in Madrid, Grandma Vicki went to an art museum while mommy and I took the kids to Parque el Retiro - Madrid's Central Park. There was a lot to see and do.

We started with a picnic by the boat pond.

We wandered for a bit to see what was what and let the kids stretch their legs.

Sawyer watched a puppet show.

Then mommy got a peaceful drink while Frankie napped and I took the kids for a ride in a big pedal powered ATV.

Obviously, we had to stop for helado.

Mommy joined us after Frankie woke up.

While I returned the ATV, mommy took the kids to one of the many playgrounds in Retiro and Frankie had a snack.

After that, we met up with Grandma for an early tapas dinner at Mercado San Miguel - with Aperol Spritzes and Cava - Perfect!

Sadie got to pick her own dinner and she chose olives, tiny hamburgers and three delicious desserts.

That was a really big last day in Madrid. We left a lot undone though, so we'll need to go back someday.

Wednesday in Madrid - El Zoo

On Wednesday we went to the Madrid Zoo. I wasn't expecting mucho, but it was a great zoo and the kids (all three) LOOOOVED it.

We arrived just in time for the dolphin show. (It is a zoo and aquarium.)

After that, we rushed over to the Raptors show.

There were other big birds too.

Hola!

In an unexpected development, Sadie really really likes little goats. She didn't want to leave them. She announced she wants to be a goat girl when she grows up - not clear what that means yet, but she's into it.

Sawyer was less excited about goats.

Mommy found her spirit animal too.

And there's grumpy papa in the background.

Sadie insisted we go back to the goats before departing and this time Frankie got in on the action.

I really didn't expect to enjoy the zoo so much, but it was great.
