It's been a few weeks, but it's still worth mentioning.
I took Sadie to her first hockey game a few weeks ago. We went to see the NY Islanders play the Philly Flyers at Barclays Center (just down the street) with Sadie's friends Henry and Arthur (and their dad).
She loved it, and not just the hamburger and fries and ice cream and pop corn and being out late on a Sunday night. Our girl really got into cheering for our home team (and against the visitors - teaching her good sportsmanship is next on our list).
She and Arthur yelled and screamed for the Islanders ("GO ISLANDERS GO!") and sometimes they just cheered for the puck ("FLY PUCK FLY!").
Anyway, our team lost in overtime but it was a great night and Sadie now identifies as an Islanders fan (one sees a lot of disappointment in her future). We will be going back.
